THE WADDEN SEA CENTRE & THE ISLAND OF MANDØ

The Wadden Sea Centre (Vadehavscentret) measures 1.000 m² and offers an exhibition that takes you on a journey through the Wadden Sea landscape seen from the perspective of the millions of migratory birds living in this area. The centre in its current design was inaugurated in 2017 and was designed by architect Dorte Mandrup. This is a special building with a reed that is used both on the façade, the roof and the roofing underlay, making it look as if it is growing from the soil – gentle and made to fit the flat marshland.

From the Wadden Sea Centre, you can go to the small, idyllic Wadden Sea island of Mandø by tractor bus.
