THE ISLAND OF RØMØ

As a detour from West Coast Cycle Route, the panoramic route 402 on Rømø is definitely worth a visit. Rømø is one of the Danish Wadden Sea islands, located approx. 10 kilometres into the North Sea. The island is connected to the mainland by the Rømø dike. On the western coast of the island, you will find a very beautiful sandy beach which is one of the widest beaches in Northern Europe. The town of Havneby towards the south offers several eateries and nice shops. Here you can also get on the ferry to the German island of Sylt. In the town of Lakolk, you can also have a bite to eat or do some shopping and this area is full of life in summer.
