16 SIGNPOSTED ROUTES ALONG THE WEST COAST CYCLE ROUTE
Along the entire West Coast Cycle Route, you will find a total of 16 signposted panoramic routes, covering distances of 20 to 50 kilometres.
You can do those either before or after a stage or you can use them as a ”day of rest” when doing West Coast Cycle Route.
All panoramic routes are round trips so that you can start and end anywhere you want along the route.
The routes are physically marked by blue signs with the relevant number (e.g. 405).

Panorama route 401 – Tønder
41 km – Tønder, Møgeltønder and Højer
The "Royal Marshland Route" is an 'international' cycle route. The route takes you both to Denmark and Germany. History comes alive with stories of hard-working peasants in Tønder Marsh and the impressive royal Schackenborg Palace.
The route runs through idyllic little villages and the busy Tønder.

Panorama route 402 – Rømø
31 km – Rømø
This route is perfect for anyone wanting to experience the best of Rømø. Places that cannot be seen from a car window.
Hop on your bicycle and ride along idyllic cycle paths through dune landscapes out to irresistible views and adventures for all the family.

Panorama route 403 - Ribe
28 km – Ribe and The Wadden Sea Centre
The "Vikings and the Wadden Sea" route takes you to Ribe, Denmark's oldest town, and out to the Wadden Sea National Park.
The south Jutland marshes have shaped the old Viking town for better and for worse, and you will be cycling past many exciting historical sites. The route also takes you to the Viking Centre.

26 km – Fanø
The "Wind beneath your Wings" route is charm on a bicycle.
As you cycle the length of Fanø, experience the smell of the sea and the excitement of Sønderho and Nordby.

Panorama route 405 - Vejers
26 km – Oksbøl and Vejers Strand
The "North Sea Nature Park" route runs through the beautiful old dune landscape. Try to describe the colour of the heather or add words to the song of the lark as you ride along.
Find edible mushrooms and Nordic herbs. You may see a red deer appear suddenly in front of you before it hurries on into the plantation.

Panorama route 406 - Filsø
20 km – Henne Strand, Filsø and Blåbjerg
The "Ride on Water" route gives you the chance to experience the beautiful landscapes of Blåbjerg, Henne Strand and Filsø.
This route runs along quiet forest tracks and minor roads to the top of Blåbjerg - and across the waters of Filsø.

Panorama route 407 - Nymindegab
42 km – Nymindegab, Bork Havn & Nørre Nebel
The "Between Sea and Fjord" route takes you round the idyllic scenery of Ringkøbing Fjord.
This route offers a waterworld attraction, a museum, a Viking harbour and gastronomic experiences. You will also have a spectacular view of the North Sea.

Panorama route 408 - Stadil
27 km – Vedersøklit, Stadil
This route take you through distinctive and impressive scenery: Vest Stadil Fjord. This is the birds' fjord, and already on your way there you will see them in the sky and hear an ever more insistent twittering. Take binoculars or just sit on a sunny footbridge and listen to the sounds of nature.

Panorama route 409 - Lemvig
44 km – Lemvig, Trans Ferring
"The Sky, Sea and Art" route takes you to the best views of the North Sea and Nissum Bredning. It also takes in historic regional sites and places where artists show their interpretations of sky and sea.
The coastal landscape presents you with a panorama of light, land and water - to take you to the very edge of the sea.

Panorama route 410 - Agger
43 km – Agger, Hurup, Bedsted
The "Experience the Forces of Nature" route is a challenge. You will encounter high Ice Age hills, sand drift and the west wind. But you will also be cycling with a tail wind through historic villages and green arable land near Agger, Vestervig and Hurup.

Panorama route 411 - Nr. Vorupør
44 km – Nørre Vorupør, Stenbjerg, Hundborg
The "Animal Paradise" route takes you through the southern part of the Thy National Park up to Nr. Vorupør. Look carefully and take your time to find animal tracks, both current and Ice Age.

49 km – Blokhus, Tranum
The "Nature's Treasure Chest" route runs south of Blokhus through a landscape of marshland, dune plantations and exciting scenery. See how people have harvested medicinal herbs and dug peat in this rugged landscape for centuries. The observant cyclist will experience a wealth of aromas and impressions.

Panorama route 413 - Saltum
27 km – Blokhus, Saltum, Hune
The "Billowing Waves and Broad Beaches" route offers both drama and idyll.
Cycle over shipwrecks on the beach at Blokhus. Sense the quiet landscape with its bleating sheep and crackling knitting needles as you cycle through the village of Saltum to the idyllic garden in Hune.

Panorama route 414 - Tornby V. Hirtshals
44 km – Hirtshals, Mygdal, Tornby
The "High above the Sea" route takes you out to the hills around Hirtshals and Tornby and gives you spectacular views of sea and land.
The impressive landscapes and the light from the sea have attracted artists to Vendsyssel for centuries. Prepare to lose your breath: it is hard to get to the top - this also goes for cycling.

35 km – Hirtshals, Uggerby
The "Close to the Underwater World" route runs close to Hirtshals. The route introduces you to fishing boats and the busy harbour.
You will also see the quiet Uggerby River - ideal for anglers.

Panorama route 416 – Aalbæk
41 km – Aalbæk, Hulsig
The "Where Birds of Prey Rule the Skies" route provides experiences of a higher order. But you also encounter things more down-to-earth with Denmark's largest migrating dune Råbjerg Mile. You cycle around Gårdbogård Sø, 'the green lake', which was emptied of water to make room for cattle and cultivation.
