Klitmøller is surrounded by the rough North Sea on one side and the scenic Nationalpark Thy on the other side. Iconic fishing boats adorn the wide sandy beach and fishermen set out in their boats on the roaring sea side by side with the surfers. Klitmøller is located in the middle of the area called “Cold Hawaii” which is the name of 31 registered surf spots located on the west coast of Thy from Agger Tange in the south to the area just north of Hanstholm. People have been surfing in Klitmøller since the 1980s and the surfing culture is making an increasingly distinct mark on the town.
