Hanstholm Fyr was constructed in 1842-43 close to the church of Hansted Kirke on top of the local cape and it was the first lighthouse to be built on the west coast. A house for the lighthouse keeper was constructed south of the lighthouse and the adjoining garden is now a wonderful, wind-protected spot where visitors can take a break. The lighthouse is 23 metres tall and as it is located so high up, it manages a focal height of 65 metres above sea level. From the top, you can enjoy a wide view of the northern part of Nationalpark Thy.
