The 10th stage starts in Slettestrand and follows the coastline of the inlet of Jammerbugten past the beach of Tranum Strand and on to the dune plantation of Tranum Klitplantage, the town of Rødhus and the dune plantation of Blokhus Klitplantage.
When you leave Blokhus Klitplantage, you can either turn right and continue north on West Coast Cycle Route or turn left towards the town of Blokhus which is always worth a visit. Here you can eat, shop and stay overnight. By Blokhus Gateway you can find hiking trails, a playground in the forest, outdoor fitness equipment and a mountain bike route.
From Blokhus, the trip continues past the amusement park of Fårup Sommerland, one of the biggest attractions in Denmark, featuring lots of wild, fun and crazy activities for the entire family.
West Coast Cycle Route continues through the dune landscape, and you will pass several summer cottage areas and camp grounds.
By the beach of Grønhøj Strand, you are literally on the coastline because West Coast Cycle Route now continues on the actual beach. Cycling by the water is a great experience; however, if the wind is not blowing your way, this can be a tough part of the trip.This stage ends after approx. 5 kilometres just south of the popular beach town Løkken. Be aware of the signs telling you where the route leads away from the beach.
In Løkken, you can find plenty of good eateries and shops, and if you feel like it, you can jump into the sea with a surfboard by Løkken Mole or enjoy yourself in a sauna.

Slettestrand is a recreational area surrounded by beautiful and varied nature. In Slettestrand, the maritime culture is still going strong, and it is one of the main features of this area. At the shipyard of Han Herred Havbåde, traditional sea vessels belonging to the fishermen in northern Jutland are preserved, rebuilt, and then launched from the beach. The plantation by Slettestrand/Svinkløv is the perfect base for an active holiday. Here you can also find lots of hiking and riding trails. In addition, this area offers some of the best mountain bike routes in Denmark.
If you would like to add a hike to your cycle trip, the hiking route Tranum-Fosdal offers a wonderful round trip of 11 kilometres from the playground of Skovlegepladsen in Tranum, approx. 4 kilometres from West Coast Cycle Route.
There are many good reasons why Blokhus attracts thousands of holiday-makers year after year. Blokhus is a charming holiday paradise featuring nice eateries, lots of shopping and plenty of places to stay overnight.
When you cycle between Saltum and Grønhøj, you will experience the rugged landscape of Kettrup Bjerge. Featuring lots of hill tops and green meadows, Kettrup Bjerge is a wonderful place to be for all nature lovers.
Løkken Mole is a 200 metres long pier, perfect for a relaxing stroll, where you can look at Løkken from the water or enjoy a proper west coast sunset up front.
