THE MONESTARY OF BØRGLUM KLOSTER

Børglum Kloster started out as a “kongsgård” before becoming a diocese and a monastery. The monastery was built from 1035 to 1220. Over the years, the old walls of Børglum Kloster have witnessed many dramatic events, including violent Viking kinds, harsh bishops, tough squires and devoted monks. Today, exhibitions and activities are the only things waiting for you around the next corner. By the monastery, you will find Børglum Møllehøj, a burial mound, and the mill of Børglum Kloster Mølle. From the top of the hill, you can enjoy a fantastic view of the entire area of Vendsyssel.
